SILENT HERDSMAN

The heating detection system Silent Herdsman is composed by collars able to detect the locomotor activity of the animals, rumination period and the time dedicated to the food ingestion. These data are collected through dedicated antennas placed inside the barn (wifi data transmission) which in turn will send the information collected to the relative touch screen computer. Inside the software all animals are registered and their data are monitored in order to send timely reporting to the farmer in case of heating (increasing of locomotor activity) or any anomalies during the period dedicated to the rumination and/or feeding ingestion. The Silent Herdsman collar does not only provide us a useful tool to check the animals in heat but at the same time it allows us to check animal behavior. An animal in good health conditions should dedicate approx. between 10 and 14 hours per day to ruminate and approx. 4 hours per day to the feed consumption. The SH system allows us to daily control these data and it alerts us in case of signals of health problems of the animals. Through internet connection, these alarms (both for heating and behavior’s problems) can be sent directly through SMS and consulted with any smartphone.
